Keith Blass, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology)

Dr. Blass graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed a 1-year internship at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following this, he completed a three-year residency in Cardiology & Interventional Medicine at the Ohio State University. He practiced cardiology at a private referral hospital in Washington, D.C. before he began practicing telecardiology in 2014. He currently splits his time working at a specialty hospital on Long Island and reading telecardiology cases. Dr. Blass has published in a number of leading veterinary journals and has reviewed articles for the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology. In his free time, Dr. Blass enjoys playing soccer, running, and playing guitar.

Lori Drourr, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Lori Drourr graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent 9 years working in general practice prior to returning to academia to pursue her passion for cardiology. Following her residency at Texas A&M University, she achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in the College of Cardiology. As a specialist she has worked in private specialty practice and as an associate professor at the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Drourr has lectured at local and national meetings including the ACVIM, AVMA, AHAA, and the SFVMA. She has facilitated veterinary staff trainings, and participated in building a cardiology webinar that has reached more than 2000 veterinarians worldwide. She also collaborated with the veterinarians at the San Francisco and Oakland Zoos studying dilated cardiomyopathy in meerkats. She continues to volunteer her time at the San Francisco Zoo as needed.


Dr. Drourr has published articles, presented her research on cats with and without murmurs, and is a contributing author for the book, The ABCDs of Small Animal Cardiology, A Practical Manual.


She’s a veterinarian by trade, a windsurfer and water woman by heart. Her favorite place in the world is Crissy Field – the beauty of the bay area captured in a single snapshot. Happiness captured in the playful patterns of sand-filled paw prints.

Dr. David J. Borde, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology)


After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Florida, Dr. Borde continued attending UF, where he graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine with honors and received the senior student Cardiology Award. Dr. Borde received board certification, becoming a diplomat in cardiology in 2001. He also received the Gold Star award from the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.

Julie Corbett, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Small Animal Internal Medicine)


Dr. Corbett graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine where she also completed an internal medicine residency after finishing a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Mississippi State University. Following her residency in 1999, Dr. Corbett went to South Florida and worked for a specialty referral hospital for a few years before coming to the Institute of Veterinary Specialists in 2002. Dr. Corbett has lectured on several topics related to veterinary internal medicine, and has published several articles and book chapters.

Kate Baker, DVM, MS, DACVP

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Pathologists


Dr. Kate Baker is a board certified veterinary clinical pathologist with a passion for teaching and developing digital pathology service solutions for veterinary practitioners. She is the founder of the Veterinary Cytology Schoolhouse where she offers an array of continuing education opportunities, as well as the personalized telecytology consultation service, Pocket Pathologist. Dr. Baker also loves interacting and teaching veterinary professionals within her social media channels (Veterinary Cytology Coffeehouse Facebook group and @clinpathkate on Instagram). She lives on a small farm in Columbia, TN with her husband and two young children. They have four dogs, a mini-donkey, a pygmy goat, and 30 chickens.
